Restoring Hope and Smiles
Compassionate Care & Genuine Support
For Those in Need
Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives
Who We Are
Safe Aid Foundation (SAF) began in 2016 with community and church health care screenings. Officially registered on November 12, 2018 (Reg. No: CAC/IT/NO 120724), we are driven to restore hope and smiles to the less privileged in rural communities in Nigeria.
Our focus areas include health care, leadership, entrepreneurship/human development, and poverty alleviation.
Founded by Dr. Martins Oyovwevotu Kedienhon, an optometrist, SAF is supported by six dedicated trustees. Our team has volunteered for numerous missions across Nigeria and Africa, notably partnering with Mission Africa, an American-based NGO. Dr. Martins' passion and commitment to helping humanity have been continuously encouraged and mentored by Mrs. Ndudi Chuku, Executive Director of Mission Africa.
Brief History
Initially named Oyovwe Eye Care Foundation in 2016, our journey began at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Ekete Inland, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, where Dr. Martins conducted free eye checkups and distributed glasses with the support of Mission Africa.
In 2017, during a community health care service in Benue State, Dr. Martins encountered a young woman with end-stage glaucoma. Her plight underscored the urgent need for ongoing support, leading to the formal registration of Safe Aid Foundation in 2018.
Since then, SAF has been committed to partnering with organizations and individuals to organize free health care services, leadership, and entrepreneurship programs, aiming to uplift the less privileged and foster leadership that drives positive societal change.
